Lao Jiao Steamboat

Today, we had our first steamboat as a Lao Jiao family. Everyone was assigned their own set of food to bring and we all did our jobs well,... except for the freaking future doctor who could screw up drinks beyond belief. I mean like... Okay never mind. I don't even.

We had a great time of fellowship and jokes were being thrown around. We sat and discussed about the order of who will get married from start to end. We all agreed Bernice will still get married first. It was a tough decision on who would be married last and I will not say who it is.

Shu Kiat.

Food was great and everyone ate to their limits. Somehow, we still had leftovers! After steamboat, we all worked as a team to clean up. After that, we played some Marvel VS Capcom. Next, we went up to Jared's room to watch Anchorman!

Lao Jiao Annual General Meeting

WHY ARE THERE NO PHOTOS OF THIS EVENT!? WHO IS SUPPOSED TO BE IN-CHARGE?

Somehow, this AGM thing is gonna become an annual thing... So on this day, we met to have supper at Longhouse eating place. That WAS the plan but in true Lao Jiao spirit,  we changed our minds and went to Udders cafe to have ice cream instead!

All of us ordered awesome ice creams except for Xavier and I who shared a durian-heineken smoothie. It tasted weird and Jared avoided talking to us.

Anyway, the big issue raised was that we're being WAY TOO CLIQUEish. Somehow this matter got us talking for almost 2 hours and we were surprisingly serious about it. It was really nice though to be able to sit as a group of friends and discuss about how we could go about settling this problem. I think we did really well and considering this blog is a month late, I can say that it can be seen that we are making great progress. Good job guys!

Always remember that we are awesome no matter what and people may say stuff about us. The important thing is that we stick together and handle matters as one big family.

Bernice's 21st

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BERNICE!

On this day, we celebrated Bernice's 21st birthday at Balzac! So far this is Lao Jiao's most atlas 21st birthday and I doubt anyone can beat it.

Once church was over, we left for lunch BUT not before meeting the new man of the hour. As usual, we had to be our super cool and collected selves, making sure that we did not embarrass ourselves infront of him.... Okay who am I kidding. He must think we're losers but OH WELL, WE ARE STRONG IN NUMBERS. We all enjoyed having lunch at our church coffee shop before heading to the restaurant. The food there was amazing and not just because it was free... But that sure was a big bonus.

Most of us were being fools, asking questions like "Eh this one got free flow or not ah?" "Eh can have teh O or kopi xiu dai?"

Well, it's the end of the year and the final 1992 batch baby has had her big day. Now on to the 1993 babies! Here's wishing Bernice lots of happiness as she continues to age beautifully. YEH KAI YOU BETTER TAKE CARE OF HER AH. WE MAY BE LOSERS BUT IF YOU HURT BERNICE, WE WILL KICK YOUR BUTT. We love you lots Bernice!

Christmas Service 2013

IT'S FEBRUARY 25th 2014 AND I'M BLOGGING ABOUT CHRISTMAS 2013~

So today we celebrated the best day of the year! We all came dressed better than we usually did and had Christmas service. Even Bernice was there! So she shared the news about the new handsome guy in town and immediately stole the thunder. Then, all the guys (except me) decided to ask questions about the new guy and Bernice immediately became a scarier type of thunder.

I like this photo because I edited it a lot. I'm sorry but it's true.
FUN FACT: Although I should be a skilled photographer by now, this was the only photo of Bernice and Deborah that came out focused.
ShuShu the Kuku was in the newspaper!

THE AFTER PARTY

So after service, we headed to Jereld's place to play Munchkins and watch Ip Man 2 (OH MY GOSH CAN I NOT MAKE A REVIEW FOR THIS MOVIE!? I FELL ASLEEP....) Jared did his famous Elder Peter impression and Shu Kiat visually explained a trelendenberg gait

Imagine Shu Kiat doing this...

ALRIGHT THAT'S ALL FOR CHRISTMAS. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF US!

The Breakfast Date

3rd November 2013
#latepost

So we decided to meet for breakfast at 9am to finally put to good use the Toast Box vouchers we won from TCBE (The Captain's Ball Event). It was a good week to nom breakfast as there was only one English service and amazingly, none of the guys were playing for service. So we have Clarence, Daniel, Jereld, Ryan and myself at Toastbox.

But that being said, getting up at 7+am was such a torture for all of us. Out of the five who were there, Clarence, Jereld, Ryan and myself are owls aka late night sleepers where 2am is considered sleeping early. And we have Dan, who was actually up late, but of course for a good reason - to watch a soccer match. As a result, WE WERE ALL LATE. But hey, no surprise there ~

We each ordered a toast set, made up of your selected toast, 2 soft-boiled eggs and a hot/cold drink. Of course, we could get this for $2 at the coffee shop beside our church, but we had to make good use of the Toastbox vouchers (although I did suggest going there for lunch to nom the other food stuff. But the response I got was "You go toastbox and you don't eat toast?! Okay lor.. Eat toast then)

Topics discussed was very interesting. Because we were talking about The Vampire Diaries for awhile. Hahahaha. I managed to convince Ryan to start watching it (and Clarence has started too. Yayyyyy). Okay I can't remember what the other topics are. But I did say one embarrassing sentence. So here goes..

I was telling Ryan "Do you know people say that skinny people have small artillery?" And Dan burst into laughter.. And me being blur, continued talking "So when we have small arteries, it gets clogged easily..and we have higher chance of getting high cholesterol". And Dan was still laughing.. and then pointed out that I had said "artillery" instead of "artery" the first time. So yes. There you go. My embarrassing sentence for the day. And Dan fulfilled his quota of being a clutz that day as he spilled his coffee while laughing at me.

So it was a very normal breakfast. We merely concluded that we were getting old. Which is sad.

Okay, take care everybody. Love all of you.

XOXO
